When I first read the review of Monck's Landing in the Fall 2011 issue of Scoregolf Magazine, I must admit that I was a little skeptical: "an affordable and gnarly nine-hole links course with plenty of bite", "truest depiction of links golf", "a stiff test"......I mean, if this course was that good, why hadn't I heard about it before? I poked around the course's website and came across more stuff that further piqued my interest: a nomination for "Best New Course in Ontario" by Fairways magazine in 2010, columnist Robert Thompson including it in a list of his favourite Canadian links courses. Intrigued, we jumped in the car last October and drove the 2+ hours to get to Norland from my home and I must say that every minute of that drive there and back was well-worth it! Monck's Landing might not be Tarandowah, but it's only a slight step beneath. The course makes you think every step of the way, and asks questions of your game that day.....if you are honest, you'll do fine, but if you answer these questions untruthfully the course will have you for breakfast. That's the definition of the term "fairness" in my books. I loved Monck's Landing and am looking forward to getting back there several times this upcoming summer.

Long and touch, we played from the Tips as usual. I knew it would be a good day for me as i hit the par 5 on #1 green in two.
Nice long first drive followed up by a fairway wood that luckily found its mark.

I will go back and play here again. Wish it was easier to book though.

6600 yards from the tips, and you can really do well here if your game is on.
The Marshalls are always good, and everyone we have been paired with when playing there has been very nice.

Look forward to playing here again.

Played with two members that day a wife and husband. She was really good. consistent every shot.

i shot a 94, as i had a rough start to the day.

looking forward to going back and trying again.

Front nine was fairly open but the back nine was more tree'd and required arrow straight tee and approach shots.
Overall the course was well groomed and maintained but the bunkers could use more sand and less small pebbles.
There are obvious signs of course improvement projects and water feature additions.
The landscape is incredibly beautiful with Mount Currie to the South East.
According to the proshop staff bear sightings are common. We saw plenty of bear scat, but no bears.

Fun, and surprisingly challenging for a 9 hole, par 3. Nice driving range, and more than worth the low fees they charge ($5 bucket of balls, and $10 a round or $18 all day). Plus a licensed clubhouse is a bonus. I will DEFINATELY golf Granum again.

It was my first day out this year and I had a great time at this course. Braeben is built on an old dump ( fantastic way to reclaim the land in the city) There is a driving range up on the top and the golf course itself is built to go around the large mountain created by the old landfill.

Braeben's golf carts all have GPS onboard as well.

I found this course to be fantastic for me since there are not a lot of trees to get lost in. (wear sunscreen)

The wind wasnt to bad, the rain held off for us, overall making it a great day.

Played well here today i shot an 88 even though i shot an 8 on the first hole.
The greens were in bad shape as they had just been aerated however usually they are nice.

The price was right and we got to play with two nice guys Jerry and Bill.
I will be back any place that lets me score under 90 is a favourite of mine. :)

i really liked playing here, it was fall, so the leaves cost me a stroke or two ;)

i shot well though and cant wait to get back.
this is on the east side of toronto, and a bit to the north.

however it is worth the drive.
