Review a Golf Course

"Just outside the centre of the town of Niort, just a few kilometres from the beautiful Marais Poitevin region, this course makes for a few hours of fun golfing, but beware of the fairway and green bunkers and of the many water hazards. The first seven holes are very flat, as this part of the course was built on the former racecourse. However, all the tees are elevated, the fairways are rather narrow and the bunkers provide some dangerous hillocks as they were excavated and contoured around earth mounds. Then the terrain becomes a little undulating, although the general layout is rather flat. The greens are usually on the smallish side, but are very well maintained. The par 3's are usually very well-defended; any iron shot off the green will be punished. Although the total yardage seems short, most holes, except for two par 4's which are tricky in other ways, are long enough even for longhitters". (François Cacougnolle-Larrieu).
